A Day at the Races

at Golden Gate Fields Racetrack

Bay breezes, thoroughbreds, dollar beers and some of the best people watching in the Bay Area are just some of what Golden Gate Fields has to offer. Golden Gate Fields sits between San Francisco Bay and Interstate 80 in Berkeley. It’s location, right on the water, affords some of the most incredible views of San Francisco to be had short of being directly on the water.

There’s a venue for everyone at There’s the inexpensive route or there’s the full luxury experience. On Sundays it’s dollar days – dollar parking dollar bets, dollar beers, dollar hot dogs, dollar programs and whole lot more. There’s even a live band playing cover tunes. A group can get out of Golden Gate Fields on a Sunday without spending a fortune and still have a unique experience. On Sunday and any other day of the week there’s the Turf Club which offers box seating, a full bar and a complete restaurant experience all with a bird’s eye view of the track.

With options like this the people watching at Golden Gate Fields is of above average quality. There’s the fancy hat and sundress crowd, the families looking for an inexpensive day out and the regulars just looking for a beer and a bet.

Any way you go, Golden Gate Fields offers something for every taste.
