Take a closer look at how people and animals create illusion—from special effects to art and camouflage. Check out a pop-up exhibit by local artist Thom Nguyen, whose work transforms under varied light sources. Meet the Academy’s visualization studio team which uses special effects techniques honed in Hollywood to produce scientifically accurate, award-winning content for the planetarium.

Magician Patrick Martin will host an illustrated talk on how illusions affect the mind, and roam through the museum performing sleight of hand tricks to challenge your sense of reality.
