After five weeks away, Bootie founders and resident DJs A Plus D are back from their European tour, and ready to rock the dance floor with some of the best mashups they've discovered from around the world. Making it a truly international mashup night, they'll be joined by Tel Aviv's Maya Jakobson, resident DJ at Israel's only mashup party, "A.D.D."
Making the night even better, Smash-Up Derby returns to the stage with Adrian back on the mic, for a rockin' set of live mashups at 11 PM. For the special Mother's Day Midnight Mashup Show, drag queen Cookie Dough will grace the stage once again, while in the upstairs room, it's SQURRRL, as DJs Papa Tony, Bill Dupp, and Trevor Sigler -- along with host Danyol -- present a nutty night of house, electro, and breaks, with plenty of funk in-between.
Launched in 2003 in San Francisco by A Plus D -- aka DJs Adrian & Mysterious D -- Bootie was the first club night dedicated solely to the burgeoning artform of the bootleg mashup -- and is now the biggest mashup event in the world, with regular parties in several cities on four continents. Voted "Best Club Night" for the past six years, Bootie keeps your brain guessing and body dancing with creative song combinations, mixing and matching every musical genre, era, and style into one big dance party. Providing the soundtrack for the A.D.D. generation -- and free mashup CDs given away like candy -- it's a place where everyone is welcome.
