Off The Grid's flagship gathering at Fort Mason is back for the season, with more bells, whistles, and food trucks than ever. The Alembic and Magnolia are still keeping thirsts quenched, but where the food was once heavily Latin- and Asian-inspired, this year's theme is shifting towards "innovative cuisine." The event's organizers put out a call in January for more experimental fare, and ended up with 13 new food vendors looking to push the mobile-food envelope ...

Pro Tip

Some vendors do not accept credit cards and the trucks are situated in a parking lot where you’ll be hard pressed to find an ATM, so be sure to bring plenty of cash with you.

In a city already teeming with delectable eats, San Francisco’s street vendors are redefining the food truck experience with a weekly congregation at one of SF's most picturesque locations. In clear view of the bay and Golden Gate Bridge, 30 street vendors serve gourmet dishes at affordable prices, with a backdrop of live music.

If you’ve been meaning to check out San Francisco’s famed food trucks but haven’t had the time to track them all down, you’re in luck. As San Francisco’s street food scene proliferates across the city, residents and visitors are presented with more and more convenient culinary options. Making themselves even more accessible to repeat and first-time customers alike, a group of local street food vendors assemble their trucks ‘Off the Grid,’ at designated sites on Thursday and Friday afternoons and evenings. Among the list of alternating participants in this weekly event are Curry Up Now, Seoul on Wheels, El Porteno Empanadas, Creme Brulee Cart, and Kara’s Cupcakes, along with a multitude of other renowned vendors.

While Yelpers laud the convenience of finding so much good food from so many different cultures in one place, they also note that the best eats seem to run out the fastest. Should you get stuck in a long line, live music and a lively atmosphere will keep you entertained until it’s your turn to order. A cash bar is also on hand to provide thirst-quenching potents with which to douse your dancing taste-buds.
