Get Fit: Bounce Around

at House of Air

The House of Air is a jumpy castle writ large, a venue dedicated to catching air and takin’ names. Comprised of four different trampoline “arenas”—one of which is dedicated to “trampoline dodgeball”—in a historic former airplane hangar in San Francisco’s Presidio. Jumpys: they’re not just for kids anymore.

There’s a reason those jumpy castles are all the rage at children’s birthday parties—there’s something about being sprung into the air over and over again that liberates the kid in everyone. The House of Air is a voluminous space that’s wall to wall trampolines separated into four areas: there’s “The Matrix” and the “Colosseum”, both arena-style areas with not simply a trampoline floor, but a trampoline wall as well; the “2x Bowl” that’s built like a trampoline skateboard park and the “Training Ground” dedicated to one-on-one aerial training sessions.

There’s free bouncing on one (or two ... or four) of the forty-two separate trampolines that make up the floor of the “Matrix” or there’s the “Colosseum”, where you battle your friends in a game of trampoline dodgeball. Yes: trampoline dodgeball.
