Chicken & Waffles for the Soul

at Little Skillet

Trust San Francisco to upgrade this classic dish – at Little Skillet, the waffles are Belgian-style, the chickens are free range from Petaluma, and dessert includes red velvet cupcakes. Bon Appetit names this food stand’s fried chicken one of the ten best in the country.

Little Skillet fries up over 400 chickens a week, possibly because of its many repeat customers, with many fans visiting three or four times a week. Expect a long line during lunch hour, but don’t let that deter you from arriving earlier rather than later as the counter closes promptly at 2:30 pm. Or better yet, beat the crowd by calling ahead with your order.
