The Mission has mountains? No, but they do have in-door rock-climbing. Dangle from an arch, repel down a cylinder, or ditch the ropes and learn to boulder at Mission Cliffs.
Learn the basics of rock-climbing or brush up on your skills in this warehouse-turned-climbing gym in the trendy Mission District. No matter what skill level, climbers love challenging themselves on 14,000 sq. ft. of climbing or 2,000 sq. ft. of bouldering terrain. Beginners often find themselves cheered on from below by on-lookers and fellow climbers, and it’s this friendly, relaxed atmosphere that keeps climbers coming back again and again.
First-timers start out with the Intro to Climbing Class where they teach everything a novice needs to know about the gear and safe climbing practices. After that, you’re free to climb the 50ft. main wall, the mezzanine walls, or the bouldering cave. If that’s not enough of a work out, hit the weight and cardio room or join one of the yoga, cardio boxing or indoor cycling classes. Cap it all off with a few minutes in the sauna for a truly well-rounded work out.
