Taking cues from the speakeasy stylings of hidden cocktail caves like Wilson & Wilson (Bourbon & Branch) and The Hideout (Dalva), Park Tavern joins in the trend with an elusive new upstairs bar called Eden Lounge.
With its own service bar, they're offering a curated selection of not-available-at-Park-Tavern seasonal cocktails like the Eden Fall with Trace bourbon, peach cobbler filling, and ginger beer, plus a small menu of bar snacks like Wagyu beef jerky or a tasting plate of Park Tavern fries, truffle aioli, Osetra caviar, and a soft-boiled egg — which is nothing to yolk about.
It’s named the Eden Lounge, which pays homage to its old moniker of the Eden Room during the Moose’s days. Weinberg says that since the downstairs bar at Park Tavern is so masculine and often crowded, they were going for a slightly more feminine, Downton Abbey-ish look upstairs. I don’t watch that show, but that idea translated into crystal chandeliers, velvet sofas and vintage wallpaper.
