Walking through the doors of Per Diem feels like stepping into another time. Big band music plays, elaborate curtains drape from high ceilings, a massive chandelier glitters overhead. The marble bar looks well worn, softly lit from above by a series of salvaged boat lamps and dominated by a turn-of-the-century water heater that's been repurposed as a draft beer tower.

Your power lunching will take place in classic wingback chairs at a table upstairs, away from distractions (aside from the convertible pool table and Blue Chip Martinis). But the marble bar, by the antique water heater turned beer tap, is where you’ll set up after work for a shot of bourbon with a Trumer chaser, known as the Standard & Poor’s.

Beer like Cherry Chocolate Bock and Hennepin Saison'll flow from 12 taps housed inside a converted antique water heater, while cocktails'll be mixed behind a walnut-wrapped marble bar, and include a chose-your-booze-venture 'tail with Belvedere or Nolet's gin, served with an olive tapenade/bleu cheese crostini, and called the Blue Chip Martini ...
