The founders of the Mixt Greens chain have set out to trail-blaze the sandwich arena with a new, hip "sandwich bistro" called Split Bread. All sandwiches are made to order from meats like spit-roasted leg of lamb and slow-roasted chicken that are carved to-order, right in front of your face. Breads will fall in-line, sourced exclusively from local bakeries, Leadbetter's and Acme.

Ditch your everyday chicken pesto for the No. 21, a porcini-crusted Prime rib-eye sprinkled with Maldon sea salt and topped with Sonoma olive oil on a sourdough baguette. Or the No. 7, a spit-roasted leg of lamb with salsa verde, lemon cucumber, and treviso on a toasted ciabatta roll.

... spit-roasted meats, housemade condiments and pickles, locally sourced veggies, fresh baked bread, healthy sides (including an It kale salad) and even seasonal popsicles for dessert, but here’s the wrinkle - this one doesn’t take cash. It’s a high-tech endeavor that involves guests scanning QR codes either in advance at their desk, at one of the Carrera marble-topped digital kiosks at the restaurant or at the table via their smart phones and everything is paid via credit or debit cards.
