Class: Screen Printing For Newbies

at Workshop

Learn the basics of screen printing, from burning an image onto a screen to transferring that image onto a surface (paper, fabric, undies, perhaps?) You’ll learn how to coat a screen, burn it using a vacuum exposure unit and how to use a press (tabletop and tee shirt press). There are over 18 water soluble ink colors for you to use in your printing. You will work with our house screens which include fun images such as fun phrases, spirit animals, popular graphics and many to choose from.

You will walk out of this class understanding the basics of ONE COLOR printing. You will have the knowledge to print at home, at Workshop for additional screen printing classes, or other printing spaces in the city. We supply several cool papers, patches and have some fun things for sale that you can print on.

This class is a great starter class, but it is not to be substituted for a multiple-week, intensive course. It will review the basics and give you some hands-on experience with screen printing. This class includes one hour of instruction and two hours of time to print, work with the instructor on pulling images, explore, and get creative!
