Moncef Genoud returns to California! After a 6-year absence, the Swiss piano virtuoso is back on the West Coast with a stellar line-up composed of Andy Barron on drums (Manu Katché, Kenny Werner, John Scofield) and Bänz Oester on bass (Michael Brecker, Joe Lovano, Malcolm Braff). The trio formation, possibly the cream of the crop of European Jazz, will perform compositions from Moncef's last two acclaimed albums, "Aqua" (2006) and "Métissage" (2011). Expect technical prowess and musical finesse in the utmost camaraderie, a delightful mix not to be missed by any Jazz aficionado.

Moncef Genoud, who was born blind, is one of the spearheads of European Jazz and currently one of only two Swiss Jazz artists to be signed to a U.S. label (the legendary Savoy Jazz, via Rollin' Dice Productions). Having released 12 albums as a leader, Moncef has performed on some of the world's biggest stages, such as the Montreux Jazz Festival, the North Sea Jazz Festival, New York's Lincoln Center, the Montreal Jazz Festival, along with iconic venues in Africa, Asia, and Europe. His fame continues to grow, thanks in part to his album "AQUA" (2006) featuring luminaries like Michael Brecker et Dee Dee Bridgewater, and the award-winning road movie Return to Gorée (CAB Productions, 2006), in which he's featured with long-time friend and collaborator Youssou N'Dour, who also appears on Moncef's latest album entitled "Métissage" (2011).

"His style blends the harmonic textures of Bill Evans and the angular lines of Lennie Tristano with his own rhythmic buoyancy and two-handed virtuosity." – The L.A. Times

"His music is engaging, unique. His harmonies are exquisite. Like all great jazz music, Genoud's music has a tremendous rhythmic pulse." – The Beverly Hills Outlook

"An impressive effort that showcases Genoud's gift for writing lovely melodies."
