Pedal 'N Paddle Wine Tour

at Getaway Adventures

With wine tasting, cycling and kayaking on a day long adventure, the wine taste and paddle tour of the Alexander Valley from Getaway Adventures, offers an intimate and active tour of the Northern California wine country.

The journey begins at the Alexander Valley Campground in the quaint wine country town of Healdsburg. There, the group of cycling and paddling wine country revelers meet their guide, their group and get equipped with a helmet a bag and a bike fitted with a cushy gel seat. The group cycles its way down the back roads of Northern California’s wine country as the guide points out the area’s interesting sights and historical details.

First stop? The Robert Young Winery: a rustic but elegant time capsule of a place that, with it’s white painted wood siding and restored barn, might just convince the visitor that they’ve been sent back to the early days of California. A leisurely wine tasting awaits the group and then it’s back on the road, through the winding roads of Sonoma County and toward the next stop, deLormier Winery. At the gorgeous deLormier Winery, the group stops to taste some fine examples of Alexander Valley Cabernet and have a freshly prepared picnic lunch on the wineries’ expansive estate.

After lunch it’s time to climb into kayaks for a float down the Russian River. It’s a different view of the breathtaking natural landscape. The river trip ends the tour where it started, at the Alexander Valley Campground in Healdsburg with goodbyes to new friends and fellow adventurers.
